Synagogues

The synagogues of Krakow are a unique and outstanding collection of Jewish monuments, incomparable to anywhere else in Poland. There are seven main synagogues in the Kazimierz district: the Old Synagogue, the High Synagogue, Remuh Synagogue, Wolf Popper Synagogue, Tempel Synagogue, Kupa Synagogue and the Izaak Jakubowicz Synagogue, and two of them are still active. The complex, unique on the European scale, has been prescribed on the list of UNESCO world heritage in 1978.
